Nobody likes to be reminded of death — especially during dinner. Take Chinese as an example, they don’t leave chopsticks pointing upward in a bowl of rice, because it resembles incense sticks burned at funerals. people who know this and concept of “face” will likely make a good first impression. But closing a deal takes more than avoiding offensive gestures. It requires fostering informal relationships.

So how to do business with Chinese? “People in China do not communicate or do business in a direct manner.” Most of the people will agree on this point of view. And indeed it is the true. In China, restaurants can be a good place for casual discussions. But how to endear yourself? Do a night of karaoke following the meal would be a good choice. Although Most of the westerners won’t do that, it is really welcomed in China.

And another important point is that relationships in China are person-to-person. If the person leaves, those relationships don’t stay with the company. In the meantime, Sharing enjoyable times with Chinese partners helps form relationships.

When it comes time to dissolve a Chinese partnership, blame must not be assigned, and the possibility for future deals should remain open. That ensures everyone saves face. This approach may lack closure by western standards, but for the Chinese it’s perfectly normal.

First of all, you need to get a temporary resident card. How to get a temporary resident card? Just go to your local police department and register there. This is probably the first thing you will do when you land in China.

And now there are two options. If you already have a drive lisense of your country. This will be a lot more easier. What you need to do is bring your remporary resident card and drive lisense to local Foreign Affairs Office and take a driving test ( paper test). The test will cost you 500 kuai and its in English. If you pass the test, just do some paper work then you are good to go. The whole process will cost you about 2000 kuai in total.

If you don’t have drive lisense of your country, you will have to take a driving test like other Chinese does including a paper test(not translated, you have to pay for the translated version) and a road test. It will cost you about 3000 kuai in total.

As we know China has imposed strong censorship on the internet. Since we already promised that we won’t publish any politics related materials, here we just offer you a way to look outside the window.

if you want to know what life behind the Great Firewall of China is like, then the Firefox plug-in China Channel (click to download) is the cheapest and fastest way to experience using the Internet in China without actually being there.

First off, you need a Firefox Browser (click to download) installed. After installation, getting to experience Web surfing the way the Chinese do isn’t hard at all. Users have three ways to activate China Channel: via the China Channel toolbar, a navigation bar button that you must drag and drop onto the bar to get access to, and a status bar button. The buttons function by opening a menu, from which you choose to switch from None to the China Channel. Much like the IE Tab extension, the page will then render as if your IP address is inside China.

The toolbar is interesting for a slightly different workflow that results in a Web page that informs you of your IP address and its country of origin. Choose the China Channel from the drop down, and then hit the big red Go button. With China Channel activated, the page will declare that the plug-in has been activated. Switch back to None and refresh the page, and it changes to reflect your proxy server-free surfing experience.

What’s the most popular instant message program in China? It’s not MSN messager or yahoo messager, or whatsoever. It’s QQ messager. When someone wants to add you as a friend on QQ messager, they don’t ask you for your emails. They will ask you for a QQ number. So How you get a QQ number?

First off, download the program. Click here.

Since the whole register process is Chinese and they change register form from time to time, it’s not worth the time to write a 3 pages long “how to” guide. The easiest way to do this is register it by cellphone.

If you are China Mobile user, send 8801 to 10661700

If you are China Unicom user, send 8801 to 10621700

Other users send 8801 to 10661700

It will cost 1 yuan to register qq number by cellphone.

You will get a reply by SMS which has the number and the password. I am sure your Chinese friends will tell you how to use QQ messager. Now enjoy your online chatting!!
